Black Friday College Football Predictions
Black Friday and College Football. Two things that go together like thanksgiving leftovers. In a few hours, some of the most important football of the year will be played. I know, we are all ready for the Ohio State/Michigan hype machine to end. We still have a day for that. Let’s shift our attention away from the Thanksgiving NFL slate, and onto the day’s games.
Houston vs. Memphis – 12PM EST ABC
Tom Herman is the most popular coach in college football this week, and according to reports, has the LSU job if he wants it. Then there is the Texas job, which he is the lead candidate for as well. Oh yeah, he is actually still employed, coaching the 9-2 Cougars in their regular season finale against Memphis. The Cougars go on the road as a 4 point favorite, and with all the drama around their current coach, it will be interesting to see how the team responds. Upset alert on this one.
Pick: Houston survives, 31-27
Washington vs. Washington State – 330PM EST FOX
The Apple Cup and a potential playoff spot is on the line for the Huskies, who enter ranked fifth but knowing an impressive showing here coupled with an Ohio State loss to Michigan “SHOULD” push them into the playoff four. Washington is a 6.5 favorite and will win this one by double digits in their best showing of the year.
Washington impresses, 34-20
Western Michigan vs. Toledo – 5PM EST ESPN2
The undefeated Broncos (11-0) are a touchdown favorite to finish their regular season perfect, and still have their eyes on cracking a New Years Six bowl game. Toledo will make things interesting early, but running back Jarvion Franklin will wear down Toledo late, and Western Michigan will go to 12-0.
Pick: Western Michigan 30 Toledo 20
