Gary Kubiak to step down as Broncos coach
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting this morning that Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak will step down after the end of the season. Kubiak has been battling health issues throughout the 2016 campaign, and missed a Thursday Night Football contest against the Chargers due to complex migraines.
The Broncos are 8-7 and were eliminated from playoff contention last weekend. Kubiak is 20-11 in two seasons at the helm in Denver, and coached the franchise to the Superbowl victory last season over the Carolina Panthers.
Kubiak, 55, was mum on the topic of his future in Denver in a press conference Friday.
“I love the Broncos. I love the work, you know? You know, I’m all in on the Raiders right now. There will be time for reflection and all that stuff next week, but right now it’s time to focus on what we’re doing.”
Denver wraps up their season against the Oakland Raiders today.
