Jake Butt tears ACL in Orange Bowl, ahead of NFL Draft
Expect to see more star players who have no shot to win a national title sit out. That is after watching Michigan tight end Jake Butt tear his ACL in the 33-32 defeat against Florida State. The senior, who was projected to be one of the first two tight ends drafted, may now see his name drop out of the first two rounds.
Prior to the Orange Bowl, the Wolverines tight end took out an insurance policy, in the event something like this would happen. That may prove to be the biggest play of his young career.
Jake Butt took out $4M in total disability insurance. Took out $2M in loss of value insurance, would start collecting after Rd 2.

Jake Butt took to Twitter to not his thoughts on if he would sit out, given the chance:
never once crossed my mind to sit this game out and I would never change that mindset. I play this game bc I love it, my teammates, coaches
