Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has an injured shoulder that could have him sidelined for the rest of the season, according to multiple reports Monday. Cutler missed five games earlier this season due to a thumb injury. The Bears lost 22-16 to the Giants, and Chicago fell to 2-8 and in the hunt for the top overall pick.
Life After Jay Cutler
Although Cutler is under contract through 2020, the Bears can release him during the off-season, and have only $2 million dollars hit their cap. Former USC standout Matt Barkley will start for the Bears Sunday. Many early 2017 NFL Mock Drafts have the Bears taking Deshone Kizer from Notre Dame. While Chicago can only hope whomever takes over for Cutler can muster half the success of rookie Dak Prescott in Dallas, a fresh start is needed.
