Thanksgiving Day NFL Predictions
This years’ Thanksgiving Day NFL games could be the best lineup we have had in a decade. Things kick off with a battle for first place in the NFC North, as 6-4 Minnesota goes to 6-4 Detroit. The most anticipated game of the day kicks off at 4:30, when 6-3-1 Washington travels to 9-1 Dallas. The nightcap for those who aren’t in a food coma will be 5-5 Indy against 5-5 Pittsburgh at 8:30.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions
The NFC North is up for grabs this year, with Green Bay struggling to get out their own way. Detroit has surprised many this year, and host a Vikings team who throughout the injuries still appears to be playoff bound. The Lions will struggle to pick up anything on the ground against Minnesota, which will put the pressure on Matt Stafford to get Golden Tate the ball early and often. Too much Vikings defense, not a lot of offense, and an ugly win to start your Turkey Day.
Pick: Vikings 19 Lions 15
Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are riding high, sitting atop the NFC with rookies Zeke Elliott and Dak Prescott leading the way. Washington has quietly put together a solid season, and look to today’s game as a measuring stick on how far they have come since Septemeber. Kirk Cousins has been playing lights out, passing for over 300 yards and 67 percent completion percentage in 3 of the last 4 games. Expect that to continue in Dallas today, and the Redskins defense come up with key stops late in the game to seal the win. We might even see a Josh Norman pick of the rookie…
Redskins 30 Cowboys 24
Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
This has the true feel of a Wildcard Weekend game. We won’t see Andrew Luck tonight, but the 5-5 Colts could still make this one interesting. Pittsburgh “should” be able to control the ball at the line of scrimmage, let Antonio Brown do his thing against a mild secondary, and pound Le’Veon Bell late to seal the victory. I don’t expect the Steelers to cover (-9), but they will win.
Pick: Steelers 21 Colts 13
