Rose Bowl Highlights: USC defeats Penn State

After USC tied the game at 49 with less than two minutes to go, Penn State quarterback Trace McSorely threw a critical interception, which led to the game winning drive by the Trojans. Darden finished with 453 yards passing and a Rose Bowl record 5 touchdowns, and USC (10-3) strengthened the argument many had before bowl season about expanding the playoff to eight teams.

Penn State finished their season at 11-3, but a top ten finish and a Big Ten title will give James Franklin and company plenty to look forward to in 2017. USC will likely enter the upcoming season ranked in the top three, as Sam Darden will get plenty of preseason Heisman hype, and a goal of making the 2018 college football playoff would seem realistic.
